Seungwan walked side by side with her father to the tree. This time around she had a giant bag on her back and a single piece of paper in her hands. She managed to tensely walk over most of the way, but when she was only a few steps away, she couldn’t help but jump and hop the remaining distance to their usual spot in front of the tree. Only a clenched jaw contained her excitement.
The tree already eclipses both of them easily and can now be used as shelter from the sun, although it wasn’t needed on this cloudy day. Seungwan made a final leap and held the paper out in front and above her like Simba from Lion King.
“Look what I won!”
Seungwan didn’t even wait for her father to catch up.
“You really are showing that to everyone. You were amazing honey.”
Her father finally caught up and ruffled her hair. The idea to visit the tree on this day was none other than Seungwan's, her first time asking to go. Her father was not going to say no to her initiative. She shook off his grasp, gave the paper to her father, marched behind him and pushed him to the trunk of the tree. She turned him around, took a few steps back, put both arms out straight and demanded.
“Stay!”
She marched back to her spot and took out the guitar she was carrying on her back.
